it seems like the touch sensors went out in your click wheel. I don't know how much it will be to repair but if your warranty is still good you could get it fixed for free but I think it would be best if you call apple because we don't want it to get any worse I was reading about the help on my new iPod touch and it said that like if there is something that you can't fix thencyou need to call the help line so go on apple.com and find a number so that you can call them and ask them but from what I'm hearing it will more than likely need repaired

Let the battery die then recharge it .
are you sure it not on "hold"
if not take it to apple store.
