I think yes. You can't deny Meryl Streep is a superb actress, although Clint Eastwood is not one of my favourites, still it's a good film. Yes, it's slow at times, but then all drama films can be, and there's more on the emotional&psychological plan to gain... After all, it's a love story, and considering it's unfulfilled and there's no happy end, it should be grand.
I must say I didn't find it particularly grand myself though.
Sorry, I didn't read the book, so I can't compare.... But as books generally tend to be slower than movies, perhaps you'll like the film more:) Report It
